Safer Selfies

Safer Selfies creates responsible social media users. Building on research by Northumbria University, we have worked collaboratively with psychologists and drama practitioner to create a series of resources and workshops which equip students with a clearer understanding of vulnerabilities online.

Safer Selfies educates school-aged pupils about the risks and implications of image sharing and social media use. Our work prompts students to reflect on their current social media use and the effects of their online behaviour. Using honesty, self-reflection and non-judgmental attitudes students are able to explore their own opinions on social media use. Rather than tell participants what to do, Safer Selfies allows students autonomy to act out a range of choices in order to make better and more informed digital decisions.
