What We Do
The Forge is an arts organisation that exists to create participatory arts programmes that are courageous, contemporary and excellent. We believe in the power of art and artist as catalysts for societal change.
We make artistic and cultural experiences that inspire young people to become successful, confident individuals playing an active part in the nation’s cultural life.
We are passionate about developing high quality participatory arts and cultural projects with children and young people, artists, cultural organisations and educators. All our projects aim to develop a new relationship between artists and participants where inspiration not only flows from the artist to the young person but the artist too becomes re-energised and challenged by his or her connection with young, enquiring and enthusiastic minds.
We work across art forms and sectors with creative professionals and other partners. Our programmes can be long term interventions to short term residencies. To see examples of our work have a look at our impact page, showreel or brochure or click on the images below to find out how you can start benefiting from our services today by linking in with our hugely successful ‘Connections’ programme.

‘Connections’ is our simple, flexible and sustainable approach to our work with Schools. For many schools and partners, working with The Forge will begin with a simple Artist in Residence connection. It will be the starting point of your journey to discover a new creative way of working and learning. It is important that our schemes are accessible as and when you need them. Click on the images below to find out more about each of the six services we can offer until the end of March 2012.
