The Forge is a creative organisation. We specialise in developing high quality participatory arts projects, working with young people, artists and educators throughout County Durham, Sunderland, nationally and internationally.
The Forge:
- produces high quality participatory arts projects with people across County Durham, Sunderland and beyond
- creates models of good practice in participatory arts work
- promotes the role of the arts in community and individual development to funders, potential partners, and other appropriate agencies
- provides training and advice for artists working in participatory settings
- offers training and advice for schools and other organisations wishing to work with artists
- acts as a pro-active broker of relationships between artists and other organisations
- creates a database of artists skilled at working in the educational sector
- fundraises to bring in additional resources for the arts in County Durham and Sunderland
